Q1. What do I need to open a CDS account?
For you to open a CDS account, you need to submit a duly filled CDS 1 form and accompany it with two passport size photo and copy of your ID/Passport. This form will then be submitted at our offices where we will open the account for you.

Q2. After how long from the date of opening the account can I start trading?
Immediately the account is opened.

Q3. How much do I need to start investing?
Minimum amount required to invest should be any amount that can purchase 100 shares of your choice.

Q4. How do I make payments for the purchase of shares?
There are several ways you can buy your shares;

  • You can EFT the investable amount to our bank accounts.
  • You can use your credit card to purchase shares.
  • You can walk to our designated banks and deposit the money directly to the account and submit the deposit advisory slip to our offices and receive an official receipt.
Q5. After purchasing my shares, what do I receive as proof of purchase?
Apart from our copy of the order form, you will receive a statement from the CDS Corporation indicating the month’s trade plus the total number of shares held in your CDS account.

Q6. Who is CDSC? And what does the acronym CDSC stand for?
The acronym CDSC stands for, Central Depository and Settlement Corporation. It is a body charged with the responsibility of keeping custody of the shares and settlement among other important responsibilities.

Q7. What is the network coverage of Dyer and Blair Investment Bank regionally?
We have several branches i.e. Westlands, Mombasa & Kampala Uganda. However, to ensure that our clients are attended to, we have close to 30 agents country wide.

Q8. How do I get to make follow up after I have placed an order to buy or sell shares?
There are several ways through which you can make follow up;

  • You can call our pilot line 3240000 to inquire on the status.
  • Our online services ensure that you are fully furnished to not only place orders on your own, but also to view your statements online. All you need is to register online through our website and a password and user name will be mailed to you.
  • And finally you could follow up your transaction by visiting our office.
